The Newbury Cycle Festival is a community cycle festival jointly organised by Newbury Road Club, Newbury Velo, and West Berkshire Spokes.

Newbury Road Club is the controller for the personal data we process, unless otherwise stated. This privacy policy explains how we use any personal information we collect about you when you engage with us.
What information do we collect about you?
We may collect personal data from you (for example, your name, address, email address, and telephone number) when you contact us by email or social media, or when you voluntarily complete one of our online forms, e.g., to preregister to take part in the festival parade.

In addition to this, website usage information is collected using cookies.

Who might we share your data with?
We will not share your information with any third parties for the purposes of direct marketing. We will only share your personal data with Government bodies and law enforcement agencies (if required by law).
In the case of photos and videos, we may share these with social media platforms and publications such as the Newbury Weekly News for promotional purposes.
Will your data be processed outside of the European Economic Area?
Given that the Internet is a global environment, using it to collect and process personal data may involve the transmission of data on an international basis. This means, for instance, that data you pass to us may be processed outside the European Economic Area, although the data will always be held securely and in line with the requirements of UK data protection legislation. How long will your personal data be stored for?
Your personal data will be retained for a period of up to six months from the last time you engage with Newbury Cycle Festival, which can include submitting an enquiry to us, opening an email from us, clicking on a link within an email from us, or unsubscribing from our marketing.
Photos and videos taken for promotional activity will be retained indefinitely to maintain a visual record of past events, and to be used for future promotional purposes (including by any appointed third parties). Please note that you may request any photos or videos of you be deleted – please contact us to request this.

Under data protection law, you have rights we need to make you aware of. The rights available to you depend on our reason for processing your information.
